The Canarinha defeated Paraguay in the finals played in Guarujá
Brazil were crowned champions of the CONMEBOL Liga Evolución Fútbol Playa 2025 after defeating Paraguay in the finals held this weekend at Enseada Beach in Guarujá.
The decisive series brought together Brazil, winners of the Northern Zone, and Paraguay, champions of the Southern Zone. Over two matchdays, the Brazilian national team prevailed in both the Sub-20 and Senior categories to secure the overall title.
Matchday 1
Paraguay 5–4 Brazil — Under 20
Paraguay edged Brazil 5–4 in the Sub-20 encounter.
Brazil opened the scoring almost immediately through Gabriel in the first minute, but Thiago Barrios equalised for Paraguay in the same minute. Carvalho restored Brazil’s lead in the seventh minute to close the first period ahead.
In the second period, Rai extended Brazil’s advantage early on, but Paraguay responded through Nicolás Bareiro. João Pedro then made it 4–2 for Brazil late in the period.
Paraguay completed a dramatic comeback in the final stage. Vidal Cáceres scored in the sixth minute and again in the ninth to level the match, before Alexandro Luraschi struck with one minute remaining to seal a 5–4 victory for the Albirroja.
Paraguay 3–9 Brazil — Senior
In the Senior category clash, Brazil defeated Paraguay 9–3, leaving both teams level on points after the opening day.
Brazil took control early as Rodrigo scored in the first minute, Da Silva added two more goals in the fifth and ninth minutes, and Thiago netted the fourth in the tenth minute to give the hosts a commanding lead after the first period.
Paraguay responded in the second period through Milciades Medina and Nicolás Bareiro, but Da Silva struck again to make it 5–2 for Brazil.
In the final period, Jesús Martínez scored an own goal to Brazil’s advantage, before Da Silva added his fourth of the match. Néstor Medina pulled one back for Paraguay, while Catarino and Da Silva rounded off the scoring to secure a 9–3 Brazilian win.
Matchday 2
Brazil 4–3 Paraguay — Under20
Brazil defeated Paraguay 4–3 in the Sub-20 match.
The hosts took the lead in the opening period through goals from Girlian and Gabriel. Paraguay reduced the deficit in the second period through Didier Cáceres, but Carvalho restored Brazil’s two-goal advantage.
In the third period, Mauricio Hermosilla scored to make it 3–2 and Enrique Sánchez equalised for Paraguay. However, Eduardo Silva found the net shortly afterwards to secure a 4–3 victory for Brazil.
With the combined results across both categories, Brazil accumulated the highest number of points across the four matches played between the Sub-20 and Senior teams.
Brazil 6–3 Paraguay — Senior
Brazil defeated Paraguay 6–3 in the Senior category match on the final day, a result that secured the overall title of the competition.
Mauricinho opened the scoring in the first period, but Jesús Martínez equalised for Paraguay with just one second remaining before the break.
Brazil regained the lead in the second period through Bejinha before Catarino and Túlio extended the advantage.
In the final period, Jesús Martínez pulled another goal back for Paraguay, but Rodrigo restored Brazil’s cushion before Carlos Carballo made it 5–3. Antonio then sealed the victory in the closing seconds to confirm Brazil as champions of the 2025 CONMEBOL Liga Evolución Beach Soccer.
