Learning and Inclusion at Beach Soccer Clinic in Catania

A fun and inspiring morning was held at Lido Blu, Playa Beach, Catania, as the Beach Soccer Foundation hosted a clinic in collaboration with local organisations, bringing together young persons, players and coaches from CA Peñarol, Cali BSC, and Tokyo Verdy.

Participants had the unique chance to learn and play side by side with international beach soccer stars, including Agostina Tasinazzo, Luisa Meza, Ally Hall, Andrea Morger, Joëlle Fabienne Zellweger, Jeane Sunseri-Warp, and Samantha Witteman, guided by coach David Mames and the full Peñarol team.

The event carried a strong message of inclusion and community spirit. The Come Ginestre Association, based in Catania, works tirelessly to support people with disabilities, promoting social participation and helping individuals enjoy a better quality of life. Alongside them, Futuro 21, created by parents and caregivers of young people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities, encourages independence, belonging, and active citizenship. Their presence reinforced the clinic’s purpose: to use sport as a tool for empowerment and connection. Other participation organisations include ASD All Sporting, Cirino La Rosa Foundation and Misericordia S. Croce Catania.

This initiative is part of a long-standing tradition by the Beach Soccer Foundation, which consistently organises clinics alongside its flagship tournaments around the world. These sessions not only introduce participants to the joy of beach soccer but also leave a meaningful legacy in host communities by fostering inclusion, education, and social integration.

“This clinic shows the true heart of beach soccer, a sport that brings people together, breaks barriers, and gives everyone the chance to shine, no matter their background or ability.”
— Beatriz Chicharro, Coordinator at Beach Soccer Foundation

The clinic in Catania was held on the final day of the World Winners Cup 2025, providing the perfect conclusion to a week of world-class beach soccer while highlighting the sport’s enduring power to inspire beyond the pitch.
