Group A
Santa Cruz secured a second consecutive win in the group stage on day two, continuing their unbeaten form in this competition to take their points tally up to six in Group A, after defeating Salvadoran side Isla San Sebastian 4-2. The American side saw four different players find the net for their team, with Akol, Eliott, Lucão and Cruz all finding the target.
Barra de Santiago clinched an impressive 12-3 triumph over USAC FP in the second Group A match of the day. A hat-trick in the match from Barra de Santiago captain Francisco Velasquez took him to the top of the goal scoring list in the men’s competition, scoring seven goals in two games.
Group C
Pioneros FP started their Americas Winners Cup 2024 campaign with a victory, coming from behind on two separate occasions to win 5-3 against SoCal BSC.
Following an intense match against SoCal BSC on the opening day, Flamengo took home yet another three points, this time however, in a fairly one-sided encounter, hitting double digits to overcome Puntarenas FC 14-1. The Brazilian side led by four goals to one at the end of the first period, and took full control of the remaining two periods with Rodrigo and Alejandro both completing hat-tricks in the fixture.
