Group A
Santa Cruz got off to the perfect start in the group stage, defeating USAC FP 13-1. A dominant display from the American side with Cruz striking on four occasions for his team.

The second match in Group A saw Salvadoran teams Isla San Sebastian and Barra de Santiago take to the sand. Despite trailing 3-1 after 12 minutes had been played in the match, Barra de Santiago managed to turn the game around and claim all three points with a 6-4 victory. Four goals from captain Francisco Velasquez greatly assisted his team in a well-fought victory.

Group B
Costa Rican side Yunis Limón opened their account in this year’s competition in spectacular fashion, winning 11-2 against Mexican team FP Riviera Maya, with Jose scoring four for his team on day one.

An all-Salvadoran matchup between Apulo Ilopango and La Pirraya FC produced drama until the final moments, as La Pirraya FC won 8-7. Batres Perdomo had the final say in the match as his goal with less than 90 seconds to play proved to be the match winner.

Group C
A competitive match between SoCal BSC and CR Flamengo was an incredible curtain raiser in Group C. The American side found themselves ahead 3-0 during the second period, but a brace from Rodrigo and a strike from Igor meant the teams were on level terms in the third period. A second yellow card for SoCal’s Silveira, with one minute to play, gave the Brazilian’s a one-man advantage in the final stages of the match and Thanger’s late header meant Flamengo completed the comeback and took the points.
