The Italian side secured the title against Catania BS
Catania FC have been crowned the 5-4 FIGC-Lega Nazionale Dilettanti Coppa Italia Puntocuore champions for the first time in their history after defeating Catania BS 5-4 in a nail-biting final between the two Italian teams.
Catania BS found themselves leading the match 2-1 after the first period came to its conclusion, initially leading 2-0 after strikes from Catarino and Farinha, as Eudin found the net for Catania FC late in the period.
Bruno Xavier fired the ball home for the opening goal in the second period to bring Catania FC back on level terms, before Bé Martins dispatched his free-kick to restore the advantage for Catania BS with just one period to play in Messina.
The third period saw Eudin secure his brace in the match, as Bé Martins found the target again for Catania BS. However, the final saw yet another twist as Jordan brought Catania FC level to take the match to extra-time, converting from close-range following Bruno Xavier’s corner kick.
A wonderful long-distance strike from goalkeeper Gean Pietro completed the comeback for Catania FC in the additional three-minute period to capture the title with a 5-4 victory.
