Home turnaround in the third period
In Group A, Fun and Learning started strong against the hosts Sótão, and at the end of the first period, the score was 2-1 in favor of the Spanish team. But goals from Flores and Inês Cruz in the third period secured three points for the home team.
European champions start off on the right foot
In the opening match of Group B, Havana Shots took the lead in the first period, while the Portuguese team AD Pastéis equalized in the second period. The Swiss team once again took the lead in the third period, but Dubytska and Joana orchestrated a comeback to secure three points for Pastéis.
In the duel between Spanish clubs, EnPie Malaga gave the reigning champions from Terrassa a scare, with Mellado scoring twice in the first period and putting the Andalusian team ahead with a 2-1 lead. However, the Catalans reacted and turned the game around in the second period with goals from Andrea and Rocío. Louise and Chami also found the back of the net in the third period to seal Terrassa’s 5-2 victory.
Lieberampool and Cáceres triumph in Group C
The German team had a tough start to the competition, as Joana Pires’ brace in the first period gave the local team AD Nazaré 2022 a two-goal advantage. However, the second period belonged to Liberampool, who scored four goals, two of which came from Jensen, who later completed a hat-trick after Lucas reduced the difference to one goal, making it 5-3.
The match between Cáceres and Playas San Javier started off lively, with both teams scoring within the first 20 seconds. In the second period, Edna put Cáceres back in the lead, and their advantage was extended to 4-1 in the third period with Edna scoring again.
Higicontrol Melilla and Newteam assert themselves
With the stands filled to witness the parade of beach soccer stars, a Higicontrol Melilla team featuring Spanish internationals Adriele, Molly Clark, and Katie James left no chance for Marseille Beach Team and won 3-0 with goals from Adriele, Queipo, and Andrea Mirón.
Meanwhile, SandGames Figueira started off with a lead against Newteam, but goals from Ali Hall and Louise Arseneault secured three points for the Belgian team.
BS Zeeland and FC10 Ladies win in contrasting matches
While the Polish team’s victory against Pozoalbense only saw one goal from Gozdek in the third minute, the match between the Dutch team and Estoril was entertaining from start to finish. BS Zeeland led 3-0 at the end of the first interval, but the Portuguese team reacted in the second period and reduced the deficit to 4-3.
The Dutch team woke up in the third period and restored the three-goal difference before Xana scored the final goal, making it 6-4.
