Sporting and Braga were both beaten by Casa Benfica at the weekend who close the gap in the Elite League table
The next round of matches in the Portuguese Elite Beach Soccer League saw Casa Benfica defeat both Sporting and Braga to reduce the gap at the top.
Elite beach soccer returned to Portugal on Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 June as the table remains open and the league reaches its halfway point.
SC Braga, who currently lead the charge on 17 points, took a win on Saturday against AD Buarcos but were edged on Sunday by Casa Benfica de Loures, spearheaded by 2018 Best Player Llorenç, and dropped points.
Casa Benfica move into second while defending champions Sporting are level on points with Casa Benfica but slip to third after losing both of their games at the weekend.
GD Chaves are in fourth win nine points, while Varzim won twice over the weekend, and shoot up into fifth. Tied with Varzim on six points are Buarcos (6th) and ACD Sótão (7th) while GR Amigos Paz remain bottom, but won their first point in a penalty shootout against GD Chaves.
The league returns on Thursday 10 June.
