Santos joins the Mundialito de Clubes!

The paulista giants become the tenth team in the competition, and have built a competitive squad to be managed by Guga

The surprise has finally been unveiled: Santos Futebol Clube, one of the biggest names in the Football Panorama in and outside the Brazilian borders has joined the Mundialito de Clubes and becomes the tenth team to dive into this historic competition. After some days of speculation and rumours, the Pele crane club has been officially appointed as another contender for this thrilling tournament that it to open its curtains next Saturday, March 19th, in the Represa de Guarapiranga (São Paulo).

The experienced Brazilian-born Guga Zloccowick, Bahrain National coach, was the one appointed to build up the Peixe squad and head for the fight against the rest of giants involved in the Mundialito de Clubes. Together with the confirmation of the Club’s identity, the players shaping its competitive team have also been made public, with a great mixture of experience, breed, spirit, youth, talent and physical strength.

These are the players selected to represent the Santos shirt: Du (Brazil), Wellington (Brazil), Dunga (Brazil); Fabricio (Uruguay), Mena (Chile), Etxeberria (Chile), Kuman (Spain), Rasheed (Bahrain), Lucas (Brazil), Ricardinho (Brazil).

Santos FC will perform on Group A and will face SC Corinthians, Seattle Sounders FC, Sporting Clube and Lokomotiv Moscow.
