Leticia Villar, Sarah Kempson and Grytsje van den Berg are in the mix for the title.
Ahead of Stars Night 2017, Beach Soccer Worldwide is proud to announce the three nominees for the inaugural Best Women’s Player award.
Brazilian Leticia Villar, England’s Sarah Kempson and Dutch star Grytsje van den Berg will go up for the award, with the winner to be announced at Stars Night 2017 in Dubai on Saturday, November 4th.
Sarah Kempson (ENG)
England midfielder Sarah Kempson has enjoyed a spectacular season both for her country and at club level with Portsmouth.
Kempson was named MVP as Pompey finished second at the Euro Winners Cup in Nazaré and she played a similarly crucial role in England’s successful Euro Beach Soccer Cup campaign, held again on the west coast of Portugal.
Grytsje Van den Berg (NED)
Dutch forward Grytsje Van den Berg was awarded the MVP prize at the Euro Beach Soccer Cup in Nazaré earlier this year as she proved a key fixture in the Netherlands’ third-place finish.
Van den Berg also weighed in with more than half of her country’s goals across the tournament -including a memorable long-range free-kick in the 1-0 win against the Czech Republic – to deservedly earn herself a spot in this year’s final three.
Leticia Villar (BRA)
Leticia Villar is a regular feature in domestic women’s beach soccer across Europe and remains one of the most talented players in her native Brazil.
The forward, still only 24, possesses skill, poise and a lethal shot, and is sure to go from strength to strength in the coming years.
