Top European Leagues meeting held in Figueira

BSWW and the top four European Leagues discussed about net steps to be taken by the sport as of next season

Beach Soccer Worldwide and representatives of the four top National Championships in Europe (Spain, Portugal, Russia and Italy) held a meeting this morning in Figueira da Foz, in the framework of the Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal, with the objective of plnning the next steps in the future development of the sport.

Different issues were tackled, beginning with a unified calendar and an eventual reformulation of the Euro Beach Soccer League in a very near future.

The fight against doping was also a key element under discussion, with all participants agreeing in that new steps need to be made. As of now, a new anti-doping system will be put in place, with regular controls in the most important competitions plus random control in any given competition organize and/or sanctioned by Beach Soccer Worldwide.

The development of Women’s beach soccer, as well as grassroots and youth categories was also on the table, with all the people involved agreeing to double their efforts in working to foster the growth of these spheres within beach soccer, key for the further development of the sport.
