The Hague to pass sentence in EBSL

The Dutch city will host for the second time the last League stage before Superfinal. From July 29th to 31st at Scheveningen

The Euro Beach Soccer League gets to The Hague for the second time to go on with the success achieved after the amusing edition held last summer. The Beachsoccer stadion at the Scheveningen beach in the Dutch capital will again welcome the best continental Beach Soccer for the last stage of the top-flight tournament in the Old Continent. From Friday, July 29th to 31st, up to seven teams will fight on the sand for one ticket to the Moscow Super Final and Promotion final. Russia, Portugal, Spain and Poland will struggle in Division A, and hosts Netherlands will face England and Greece in Division B, with their eyes put on getting the chance of fighting for a berth in the highest division next year.

The Euro Beach Soccer League – The Hague 2011, as the last stage before the Super Final and Promotion Final, will definitely pass sentence on which teams grasp the last places to attempt for the higher goals in the season. So, it will be a key opportunity for hosts Netherlands to go for the first step of their dream: getting to Division A, a place reserved for the best eight teams in the continent. To do so, they will need to prevail over England and Greece to secure their pass to the Promotion Final, scheduled for next week, August 4th to 7th, in the Moscow. There, they would face the winners of the previous stages, France, Israel and Czech Republic, together with the best second of the season, and the lowest ranked in Division A, a placed occupied for Turkey at this moment.

But let’s not speak too soon, as England and Greece are not going to make things any easy to Kokmeijer’s squad. The support of their crowd in The Hague will be absolutely crucial for the Orange to step into the Promotion Final.

In Division A, many things are to be decided, as well. Spain and Russia come to Scheveningen as winners of two of the previous EBSL stages, Bern and Berlin, respectively, but they will need to grasp some points to make themselves part of the Superfinal. In turn, current Euro Beach Soccer League champions, Portugal, need to lead a great performance after being snatched the cup in Berlin by the Russians, and nothing less than two victories will secure their berth in Moscow to defend the title. Needless to say, excitement is more than warranted!
