Tahiti welcomes the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifier

Beach Soccer is ready to land in the heavenly shores of Tahiti, bringing all the excitement of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2011 Ravenna/Italy – OFC Qualifier on. Just one ticket will be at stake for the four contenders from the Oceania Confederation, throwing Solomon Islands, Fiji, Vanuatu and hosts Tahiti to a battle without quarter from next Tuesday February 22nd to Saturday 26th. The Beach Soccer Stadium at the Jardin de Paofai, exactly by the stadium which is getting ready to host the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2013, will be an excellent arena for this significant event.

Solomon Islands, affectionately known as the ‘Brazil of the South Pacific’ thanks to their unrivalled supremacy in the continent and their colourful playing style, will again hold the ‘favourite’ label. Counting on players such as Gideon Omokirio and James Naka, among others, they’ll do their best to give Tahiti, Vanuatu or Fiji little chance to snatch the place for the World Cup. But the rest of the squads will try to turn the situation around, though, since the sport is taking strong roots in Oceania and the participating National teams are better trained year after year. So, surprises may be on the script…
