Switzerland fly to Tahiti for triple friendly

The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup hosts want to make the most of this year prior to the showpiece, seeking best preparation

The countdown to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti 2013 has already begun, and after the Official Emblem Launch held last week in Papeete, the presence of Beach Soccer is increasing everyday in the French Polynesia. The Tahitian National Side, wants to get to their party in the best possible manner, and this is why they have planned a busy year in which they plan to face most of the greatest sides in the world. The better the enemy, the more you need to grow…

First encounter for the Zaveroni-steered side will come in a triple dose. The Tiki Toa (warriors) side are to face Switzerland in three different friendlies this week, the first of them happening this weekend, October 3rd, and the other two during the weekend (Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th).

The experience is to prove really fruitful for both teams. Besides giving the hosts an excellent taste of top-notch Beach Soccer action through which they can confirm the great sensations they left in their first experience in a global stage, it also means a lovely spell for the Alpine, as Meier highlights: “This is an absolutely unique experience, we already know the islands from the stories of our friends from Tahiti … but to experience everything live, plus the opportunity of playing three games against the Tahitian National Team, is going to be something unbelievable”.
