Swiss triumph over Hungary in friendly

The two European nations played their second match in Basel against each other this week with Switzerland prevailing in both

The 7-1 win for the Helvetian side was a far cry from their 7-5 win earlier in the week, though there was one common theme. The offensive abilities of Noel Ott. The young Swiss star keyed the victory for his squad by scoring four goals. He produced a hat-trick in the previous 7-5 victory, so to make things sure, he outdid himself this time around.

Play was fast in the opening period and Switzerland did not play it safe and they went on the attack and were rewarded with three goals, two from Ott. The score could have been much higher had the Hungarian defense not played as well as they did. The middle frame saw more goals, 4 in total, all by La Nati and they took a 7-0 lead into the final period.

Switzerland played magnificently on defense throughout the entire match but they did have one slip-up, when they conceded a third period goal to Laszlo Berkes and the Hungarians. All things considered, Hungary played a great game defensively as well, apart from the middle frame, as they did not allow the Swiss to score any goals in the final period. The Hungarian offense had chances but not enough to sway the momentum and change the final result.
