Sambenedettese ladies clinch Italian championship

The Samb. side down reigning champions Terracina to claim a debut title

A week before the men’s team from Sambenedettese returned to rule Italian beach soccer, the women had already occupied the Serie Aon throne.

After a storming campaign Happy Car impressed on the first attempt at the crown, fighting off several of the tournament favourites, including a star-studded Lokrians, to lift the trophy.

Goals from Patrizia Caccamo and Brazilian Jessica Mendonça got the to-be champions ahead, but a strike from Colodetti brought the scores close once more.

However, a final nail in the coffin for the ladies from Terracina saw the match wrapped up at 3-1 when Erika Ferrara netted number three.

Sambenedettese has now claimed both the masculine and feminine league titles for 2019. Is this the start of beach soccer domination in the region or will they be dethroned next season?
