Afghanistan appoint new head coach ahead of AFC Beach Soccer Championship Thailand 2019
Meysam Ashtiani has been named as the head coach of the Afghanistan Nation Beach Soccer Team, as the Asian qualifier to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay draws closer.
“I am very happy to be appointed as the Afghan team coach.” Mr Ashtiani commented. “Now we have to turn our attention to the World Cup qualifiers in Thailand.”
The Iranian coach was appointed to the post earlier this month and his next task will be to prepare his side for their matches in the AFC Beach Soccer Championship Thailand 2019.
The competition will take place in Pattaya, Thailand, between March 9-17, and serves as the qualifier in Asia for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2019.
In an official draw that was held in Thailand on the 3rd December, Afghanistan were drawn into Group A, alongside the host nation Thailand, as well as Malaysia and Palestine.
