Iran claims Friendship Cup

The Persian side edge hosts Belarus in the decider, as Estonia earns third following tight win over Turkey

Just one goal made the difference in the decider of the Beach Soccer Worldwide Friendship Cup 2015, held this weekend in Belarus. Moradi’s 2-3, with only two minutes remaining, had Iran upsetting their Belarusian counterparts and bagging the trophy. Despite the Asian had commanded during most of the game, Bryshtsel’s 2-2 in the last part of the second period enlightened the Belarusian hopes, sending the fixture to a fierce combat in the last twelve minutes. 

Goal chances happened at both ends, but the Persians stood still to secure the victory would not scape their hands. With the match ticking to its final whistle, Marco Octavio’s lads managed the winner that sealed a win that had them prevailing, with three victories in three matches in this Beach Soccer Worldwide Friendship Cup. 

In the game for the third place, Estonia merited the points after a contested battle, thanks to Stuf’s winner midway third period.
