Llorenç keeps Spain on top in Bushehr

Two goals by talented Llorenç Gómez helped Spain through in a hard-fought game against Azerbaijan. In their second game in the competition, the Spaniards faced a tough resistance by the Azeri, but the final win get them three points that secure their chances to take on Iran tomorrow in the fight for the Persian Beach Soccer Cup gold.

Azerbaijan demanded La Roja an extra effort today, and the offensive prowess by Alonso’s side was not as brilliant as yesterday, despite they managed to keep the men from the Land of Fire always away from their box. 

Orkhan managed to equalize Adri Frutos’ effort right seconds afterwards, but the Azeri’s flight would go any further. In the second period, Llorenç gave Spain the control of the game back. 

The score would not move again, despite the Spaniards had some clear goal chances, and the final whistle confirmed Spain as the eventual leaders in the competition, granting them the opportunity to fight for the Persian glory tomorrow, in the all-or-nothing game again hosts Iran.

Top-class Iran run past Ukraine to keep all options

Hosts Iran brought on a brilliant performance in their game against Ukraine today to earn the right to fight Spain tomorrow for the gold at the Persian Beach Soccer Cup being held in Bushehr. 

Mohammad Moradi was in hand again today for the Persian, together with captain Ahmadzadeh, to lead the scoring responsibility in their team. Three goals Moradi, two more goals Ahmadzadeh had thing pretty much done for the Iranians, leaving Ukraine helpless against such an offensive display. 

Shcherytsia and Zborovsky tried to fire the Ukrainian reaction, but, after the second break seemed to end their inspiration. Moradi, rounding his hat-trick today, sealed the win for Team Melli, despite Zborovskiy’s late effort.
