Guga takes on Brazilian job

Former Bahrain coach in charge of leading the new age for the tetracampeao, CBBS confirms

CBBS confirmed this weekend that Gustavo ‘Guga’ Zloccowick has been appointed as the new Brazilian National coach. With only 34 years, but with a brilliant international career after his experiences ahead of Portugal, Russia or Bahrain, the Brazilian born has in front of him the demanding task of substituting the four times FIFA World Cup Champion Alexandre Soares, together with the renewal duty of the Verdeamarela squad.

After seeing Russia snatch a throne traditionally belonging to them, the Canarinha sees now the awakening of a new era, that in which they have tested that the Cup is not to end in their hands just because they are Brazil. Regarding next edition in Tahiti 2013, the Brazilian National Team task is to try to win the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup back, not defend its possession, what needs a change of mentality Guga is expected to lead. But it is not only a change of objectives what Brazil is seeking, but also a renewal of the squad. In such a talented country, new blood is regarded as one of the key steps to get the global throne back.

The Pernambucano coach assured that he sees this upcoming task more as a fulfillment of a dream than a job: “ I have spent a lot of time abroad, and this opportunity could not come at a better moment. Having the chance of leading Brazil is something that makes me feel really proud, the fulfillment of a dream I have always had since I began my beach soccer career 10 years ago. It is a big challenge, but I feel really motivated to go for it.”

Uncomfortable beginning
