Germany survives English comeback attempts

The first match for Germany in Manchester was a successful one as they struck early and rode on to victory

The 4-2 win for Germany over England in Manchester was a great welcome to the UK for the German team. The Germans began strong but the Three Lions made a stand and got back into the game. The momentum then shifted again to Germany but England refused to give up and put themselves in a position to close the gap even more but in the end they were unable to gain enough traction on the German defense. The two teams will play a rematch on Sunday in their final battle against each other in Manchester.

The opening frame included a little bit of everything, defense and offense and goals. Germany struck first on a penalty kick and then on a corner and they took a two goal lead into the first break. The middle frame was an amped up version of the first period with more goals and while England controlled the tempo for much of the period, they were unable to gain any ground on the Germans and they score stood 3-1, advantage Germany going into the last period. The last period was played at a breakneck speed and tactical offensive strikes netted goals for both teams as England scored the last goal but their rally fell two goals shy of the mark.
