Euro Beach Soccer League returns to Nazaré this weekend

On Friday we head back to the Portuguese coast where 11 teams will fight for their spot in the 2018 Superfinal

As one of the most important venues of top level beach soccer in Europe, it is always great to be back in Nazaré, and 2018’s second installment of Euro Beach Soccer League action is the perfect excuse to do so once more. This event welcomes one group of teams battling it out in Division A and two groups from Division B.

In Division A, following their three wins in the last EBSL event in Baku, Portugal have the opportunity to secure their place in the Superfinal in Sardinia, in front of a home crowd.

And in the two groups of Division B, both of the group toppers will have their entry to the final showdown in Sardinia secured, where they will challenge for promotion to Division A.

Women’s Euro Beach Soccer Cup

What’s more, we will be treated to another beach soccer event in Nazaré this weekend, as the Women’s Euro Beach Soccer Cup will also be taking place at the same time.

Six teams (Czech Republic, England, Netherlands, Russia, Spain and Switzerland) are taking part in the third edition of the tournament and will be split into two groups of three.

The winners of each group are set to play each other in the final on Sunday, to see who will be crowned champions. With the two previous winning teams both present this year – England (2017) and Spain (2016) – will we see a second title for one of them, or three different winners in three years of the event?
