Beach Soccer keeps taking roots in different places all over the globe. The Dominican Republic has been one of the last territories in embracing the sport. After having organized several national and regional competitions, the Caribbean country seeks a leap forward onto a professional scale, taking off with a Beach Soccer refereeing and coaching course, organized by the Federación Dominicana de Futbol (Dominican FA) in San Cristóbal.
The National football governing body, with their Beach Soccer president, Prandy Pinares, ahead, is strongly interested in the sport, as the communications during last years have made evident, and this is one of their key steps to backbone the modality in such a beach-graced territory.
Up to 40 professionals took part in the course, which dealt with both practical an theoretical aspects of the game, together with the sport’s history, the distribution of the competitions at a global scale, psychological points both in coaching and refereeing, and physical conditioning.
