Costa Rica rides big 3rd period to win

England and Costa Rica treated fans to a thriller and in the process set the stage for a grand finale on Tuesday

The 8-4 victory for Costa Rica over England was a thrill to watch as both teams displayed power, finesse, and a will to win. Only one team could win though and after a back and forth two periods, the Costa Rican side dominated the final frame to pull away from England. This was the second game between the teams and they will play their final match against each other tomorrow.

 

There was no shortage of action in the opening minutes with both teams playing physical and taking advantage of their chances. Both teams scored and the period ended with England owning a 2-1 lead. In the middle frame the goals came in bunches and Costa Rica turned their one goal opening frame deficit into a one goal advantage with the period ending with a score of 4—3 Costa Rica. The drama continued into the last period with both teams exemplifying competitive spirit and a desire to win but the Costa Ricans ramped up their energy higher than England could. The Central Americans added four goals to their tally and only seceded one more to England.
