Concacaf battle ready to begin

The Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship 2019 kicks off tomorrow in Puerto Vallarta with 16 teams vying for one of the two tickets to the World Cup

The road to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup begins tomorrow for the 16 teams taking part in the Concacaf Beach Soccer Championship 2019, which takes place between the 13th and 19th of May in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.

Stakes are high in the Mexican resort, as only two spots at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup are available for Concacaf contenders. Only the best two teams in the region will secure a berth in Paraguay, and makes the competition in Puerto Vallarta a truly demanding fight.

After the official training sessions held yesterday and today, there is no more time for practice. The moment of the truth is upon the 16 nations taking part in the continental showpiece.

Tomorrow, the hosts of the last Concacaf Beach Soccer Championships and the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, Bahamas, will kick start the competition, facing Antigua & Barbuda. That will be the first of six thrilling games opening the competition in the beautiful Puerto Vallarta, including defending champions Panama’s clash against US Virgin Islands, or the debut of the hosts in front of their crowd against Guatemala.

This is the complete schedule for tomorrow:

Monday 13th May

10.45 – Bahamas v Antigua and Barbuda (Group C)

12.00 – Trinidad and Tobago v Turks and Caicos Islands (Group B)

14.15 – Costa Rica v Jamaica (Group A)
