It was business as usual for the world champions in La Liga Sudamericana de Fútbol Playa – Zona Norte 2018, as they accumulated a total of 24 points to lift the trophy.

The event took place at the Estadio Portátil Santa Marta de la Playa Tamacá in Colombia, and included five teams from the northern section of the South American continent: Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.

The final say saw the local side feel the full force of the Brazilian attack in their last match of the league.

The game finished with Gilberto Costa’s men having put 13 goals past their hosts, and conceding just five, taking their tournament goal difference to 41. Colombia took up second place, while Venezuela finished in third. Peru came fourth and Ecuador fifth.

The undefeated Brazilian senior beach soccer team manage to retain their title, but their heroics were echoed in the younger age divisions too, as the Under 20s side also claimed victory in the competition, rounding it off with a 3-0 against Colombia.
