Beach soccer expansion is reaching new heights

FIFA instructors and referees from UNCAF recently met in Costa Rica to further improve the implementation of the rules of the game

The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015 is rapidly approaching and the even sooner is the most important event for CONCACAF this year, the qualifier. The FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015 – CONCACAF Qualifier El Salvador will be held in the heart of the Central American region and in an effort to elevate the overall quality of the event, FIFA sent their internationally recognized and certified instructors to Costa Rica to train with the UNCAF designated referees. The 11 Central American referees will all be called upon for the qualifying event, set for the 28th of March until the 4th of April.

The referees hail from all over the area, from Mexico all the way to the Dominican Republic. Also included in the sessions were referees from Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Panama. The list goes as follows: Juan Ángeles, Cesar Echeverría, Nelson Bonilla, Warner Porras, Gonzalo Carballo, Miguel López, Gumercindo Batista, Miguel Aguilar, Rodil Cornejo, Gonzalzo Martínez, and Erick Chavarría (all pictured in the above photo).

 

FIFA takes pride in sending instructors all over the world to improve the game and the representatives in Costa Rica were: Victorino Rodríguez, Tim Weyland, Levi Allen, Jorge Ruiz, and these sessions were administered by Victor Estrada UNCAF Competitions and Development Director. In addition to the instruction, the participants all took part in physical tests and training, to make sure the best quality product is put onto the pitch, come March 28th
