Beach Soccer among most popular sports in European Games

Demand for beach soccer has been so high that Baku 2015 Organizing Committee will be opening the upper-level of the stadium to accommodate!

The European Games Baku 2015 has been a roaring success, beginning with the inspiring opening ceremony and now it will close with a packed house for beach soccer. The first ever Olympic games for Europe has already included some medals and great action for the fans but the desire to watch the beautiful sport on sand has required more tickets to be released and more space to be available. The Games began on the 12th of June and as one of the final events, all eyes will be on beach soccer and now even more fans will be able to catch the excitement. The Games finish on the same day that beach soccer does, the 28th of June, with the medal presentation, followed by the closing ceremony.

Beach soccer is already the most popular sport on sand across the globe, but the popularity and outpouring of support for the game in these Olympics has made for an increase in tickets and seats for the fans. People have called, emailed, and asked for the chance to see beach soccer even though the allotted number of tickets had already been sold-out. The beach soccer stadium is a state of the art facility with two levels, an upper and a lower, and the lower ring no longer has available seats and the next ring, the upper bowl, which was not planned to be open and was not until now, is being made open to the public due to the huge popularity of the game.

The support for the game is not surprising but almost a week before the beach soccer festivities begin does make this announcement all the more powerful. Eight teams will be delighted by the more than 3,500 screaming fans and those teams include Russia, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, Ukraine, Hungary, and Azerbaijan (hosts). The beach soccer party begins the 24th of June and make sure you stay connected with www.beachsoccer.com as we will have all of the news, updates, and information you need.
