One of the most exciting and hard-fought competitions in the world lands in Russia, and we can hardly think of a better place for this to happen. The best 20 teams in Europe are ready to vye for one of the tickets to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, and they will do it in a very special venue.
Russia has deservedly become a synonym for Beach Soccer. There is no other way to define the amazing work the Russian Football Union has been performing during the last fifteen years. What our friends Alex Alaev and Nikolay Pisarev set into motion many years ago, and have continued to back over these seasons, is a true opera prima, also thanks to the strong committment by president Mutko and Sergey Anokhin. Beach Soccer will not be where it is today without their energy and passion. For the first time, as well, and also thanks to the support of Alex Alaev and the FUR, the event will be backed by UEFA, in another great step by the sport.
The Football Union of Russia keeps showing their strong committment to the sport, and in many different ways. Not only by hosting at least one magnificent every year, with this thrilling FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifier just upon us, but also thoroughly working towards the future, investing efforts and resources in making beach soccer bigger, better, and more exciting.
Their contribution to the sport is just priceless, and their will of growth is showcased with yet another strategic decision: the bid to host the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2021. With this ambitious dream, the FUR is doing what has always done: look ahead and think about the brightest possible future (and present) for the sport.
Spasibo, our friends!
