The ticketing launch for the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup was also announced yesterday in Papeete, Tahiti
The TIKI store, the official FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti 2013 merchandise shop, is now open. The opening of this store occurred on July 3rd and it is situated in the center of Vaima. This establishment sells all officially licensed World Cup products and it contains over sixty thousand officially licensed World Cup memorabilia, including but not limited to hats, t-shirts, and jerseys.
Starting on the 18th of July, the store will also be the only official location to buy your tickets to the World Cup. In one easy stop, you can now buy a jersey of your favourite country and tickets to see them play, in the same location.
The traditional ribbon cutting ceremony was performed by the esteemed Vairani Davio, president of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2013 Local Organizing Committee. Also present for this momentous occasion were Michel Buillard, Major of Papeete, and Pascal Vahirua, the only Polynesian to ever play for the French National Football team.
For this special event, over 150 very important members of the community came. Two very important people present were, too, Jonathan Tehau and Steevy Chong Hue, both players of the Tahitian National Football team who won over the hearts of thousands in the Confederations Cup 2013 set in Brazil. Steevy Chong said that ?this is a great time for Tahitian football and that this FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup is great not only for Papeete, but also for the island of Tahiti and for all of French Polynesia?. He also went on to say that this event will also help boost the economy, something in which the TIKI store will play a part.
The TIKI store will be open on Mondays from 10:00 until 16:00, from Tuesday through Friday, from 09:30 until 18:00 and the weekend hours are 08:00 to 16:00
