Poland sinks Hungary to keep having options
Poland finally got the ‘stop’ sign in front of Hungary, with a solid and convincing victory that has the Polish still keeping their options to achieve one of the tickets to Tahiti. Instead, with 0 points so far, there is no chance left for the Magyar in this FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup – Qualifier Moscow. Saganowski was, again, the key weapon for Poland. With three new goals that lift him to the head of the top scorers chart, the dynamic forward secured a convincing win for his side that, with the posts even denying them a wider victory.
The Polish National side had the match under control during the whole game. Hitting twice by mid first period and reaching the second break 5-1 up, there was little to do for De Celis’ side, who never had any real option to bring Poland down. Only with the match almost decided, the Polish defensive concentration loosened a bit, granting the Hungarians some chances. But, with Saganoswi and his teammates staying as prolific as they were, not even that allowed the Magyar any expectation to counteract.
The final whistle has, then, Poland with their first three points, knowing that whatever happened in the match between Ukraine and Spain, they would have their options tomorrow, fighting against, precisely, the defending champions. Only a loud victory tomorrow would have them in. Hungary, in turn, can farewell this FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup – Qualifier Moscow with the pride of having done a terrific job, one which is going to be really valuable for their future performances.

France earns first points from the penalty kick spot
Once again, France was faced to a penalty kick at the end of their match , this time against Belarus, to decide who was to take the points in this second game of the last and decisive group phase of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2013 – Qualifier Moscow. And after the bitter epilogue yesterday, Les Bleus could smile again today, after Davidovich’s attempt hitting the post and going out of Gasset’s goal. Thus, with two points, the Frenchmen keep having options to see themselves in Tahiti, and, despite the defeat, Belarus could still make it tomorrow depending on the results.
France was in front of their last chance of keeping alive in the Qualifier, as a defeat today would immediately have killed all their options. Securing the points the sooner the better, though François’ men, was the best way to go through the match today against Belarus who was living a real dream. Three goals in five minutes got the French in the best possible scenario, with the match truly unbalanced yet at that early stage. It seemed impossible that Belarus could keep fighting with that distance, but they amazingly did, turning things around in a brilliant second period they ended 4-3 ahead.
Les Bleus were now in a difficult position, having lost such a significant advantage and seeing themselves behind a team whose spirit seemed impossible to humble. Only the French wider experience in top-flight moments granted them the chance to equalize the score once, and twice, after Shvaiba’s 5-4. Two more goals during the extra time (Samoun and Miranovich) left things leveled again, what turned into the third consecutive penalty kick shootout to be undergone by the Frenchmen.
Having won the first one against Portugal, and having lost the last one against the Netherlands, François and his lads did not know what to expect. Fortunately for them, after a really tough shootout in which Ilyin could have sent them home after Samoun’s miss, the last attempt by Davidovich found Gasset’s goal wood, what keeps France in the fight for the remaining ticket to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti 2013. Only a victory against World Champions Russia, who have already secured their berth, plus Belarus winning Netherlands in the other game of the group, would do for Les Bleus.

Russia wins Tahiti berth!
Current World Champions Russia will have the chance to defend their title in the French Polynesia next September 2013. Likhachev’s side were the first ones to secure their tickets in this FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2013 – Qualifier Moscow, after tightly edging Netherlands (2-1) in their second game of the decisive group stage. The Orange, in turn still have their chances untouched, as they depend only on themselves to get to Tahiti, especially after France being only able to capture two points against Belarus. If Kokmeijer’s side bend the Belarusian tomorrow, they are in.
Russia did not want to let any of their chances go by without making the most of it, but, at the same time, regarded Netherlands as a dangerous time they paid full respect to. After a control and goalless first period, Shishin would not miss his chance to sweep his team ahead, after a penalty kick awarded to Russia at the beginning of the second leg. The most important for the hosts was not to concede the Dutch any chance to counteract, always without forgetting Reijer Ran’s end. Makarov’s 2-0 definitely coloured the panorama in red, as coming back from a 2-0 against the Russian team is something really difficult to do.
Despite Tosch’s header for the 2-1, the Dutch reaction went no further than that, having Russia as the first team to secure their berth in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti 2013. The defeat, as previously stated does not mean much to the Orange, who still depend on their own result to fly to Beach Soccer’s biggest showcase for the first time in their history.

Amarelle unleashes Spanish frenzy
An astonishing overhead kick by Ramiro Amarelle on extra time gave Spain the tickets to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Tahiti 2013. The extra time trick by the Spanish magician got La Roja back onto a World Cup, after having missed last one. After an amusing comeback, finally fruitless, Ukraine still keep all their options to be in Papeete, as they only need a victory over Poland tomorrow.
In a really leveled first period, the defending champions found a stroke of luck when Juanma, trying to head the ball out, got it precisely where he did not want it to be, Dona’s back of the net. Amarelle himself, though, fixed that at the beginning of the third period, with Javi Torres to follow for the 1-2 some minutes afterwards. Spain were living their best moments in the game, and kept successfully heading to Sidorenko’s nets: Juanma and Cristian Torres, with two superb goals, got things 1-4 for Spain by mid third period.
With just three minutes to go, it seemed impossible that defending champions could counteract the wide advantage, but never say never with such a talented team as the Ukrainians. After Borsuk’s 2-4 from the penalty spot, Kucherenko’s side got into a crazy last minute, in which they came from that 2-4 down to a 4-4 right under the horn.
The match was then sent into extra time, where Spain displayed an admirable determination in front of a truly elated opponent who had already done the most difficult. Anything could happen, and these kind of scenarios is where the biggest players emerge. Just as Ramiro Amarelle did today, when receiving a pass, lifting the ball and blasting it in with an incredible bicycle kick that sends Spain straight to Tahiti. Ukraine will need to finish their job tomorrow against Poland.
