Mexico and USA hit first in Puerto Vallarta

The CONCACAF representatives top the table following their wins over Colombia and France

It cannot be said that CONCACAF sides were not on point in the opening of the Visit Puerto Vallarta Cup 2017. Both Mexico and the USA earned wins to get on top of the table after this first day of competition.

Mexico gave their devoted crowd a convincing and entertaining win over Colombia. Despite the Cafeteros tried to make things hard for the hosts, truth is that Ramon Raya’s lads seemed to have things under control.

Even the eventual 2-2 equalizer for Colombia midway half second leg was immediately solved by the Tri, who ended up sealing the win with a 2-0 run in the last stage.

In the first game of the day, USA bagged the first points at stake at this Visit Puerto Vallarta Cup, following a narrow win over France at the tournament’s opener.

Farberoff lads proved to be a mature, consistent team, and managed their advantage efficiently, knowing how to keep Les Bleus behind for most of the game.

Not even Maison’s hat trick for the French was enough to help France get ahead, as Nick Perera, with three goals, too, would not let that happen.
