III Juegos Sudamericanos de Playa is nearly here

A superb state-of-the art stadium close to completion in Vargas, Venezuela, where event is scheduled from 20th to 24th of May

The best teams in South America are currently preparing for the giant continental wide event. This is the third edition of the competition and the first time that Venezuela will be at the epicenter. Vargas has invested in a state-of-the art permanent beach soccer stadium which will be the home for all the matches. The construction of this must-see structure displays the growth of beach soccer and how important investing in beach soccer is to Venezuela. Along with a strong National team, it is evident how bright the future is for Venezuela.

This is the third Juegos Sudamericanos de Playa, with the first being held in 2009 in Montevideo, Uruguay and the second was held in Manta, Ecuador in 2011. No team has won silver twice, and no team has repeated with bronze, though the only champion has been Brazil. The Verdeamarela is the only team to have medaled in both previous editions, earning gold both times, giving claim to this tournament being one of the most exciting and unpredictable in the world. Uruguay, when hosting, earned bronze, as did Ecuador.

The home team will look to dethrone Brazil as champion and follow suit with previous hosts and medal in this highly revered beach event. There is less than a month before the first shot is taken, less than a month before the first daring save, and less than a month before the first game is won, but make sure to check-in with www.beachsoccer.com for more information as the excitement grows and we get closer to kick-off.
