FIFA Seminar in Bahamas proves the Caribbean?s great potential

The FIFA Beach Soccer Seminar of Bahamas closed its doors with the absolute certainty that all goals had been accomplished: Those leading to the firm establishment of our sport in a territory with such a potential such as The Caribbean area. The course, organized by the FIFA Development Office of Trinidad y Tobago and excellently hosted and promoted by the Bahamas Football Association, was driven by the FIFA instructor Ross Orango and Josep Ponset, from Beach Soccer Worldwide.

During the four-day symposium, all issues about the Beach Soccer implementation were dealt with, mainly regarding the organizing elements every federation should care about. Representatives from up to ten countries sat the course: Anguilla, Bahamas, Canada, Guyana, Jamaica, Cayman Islands, Netherlands Antilles, St. Kitts & Nevis, Turks & Caicos and the USA. All of them showed great enthusiasm and interest during the lectures, expositions and Workshops about technical and tactical aspects, and the signs that the Caribbean countries are to become an important engine for Beach Soccer were more than evident. Besides, countries such as the USA and Canada, with their beach soccer structures yet in upper levels, brought brilliant development plans in.

All the Football Associations involved proved strongly committed to work hard for the implementation and growth of Beach Soccer, and most of them believe than in one year time, they will have their teams ready to take part in international competitions.
