A beach soccer commission held an important meeting in La Casa del Fútbol Sudamericano in Luque on Tuesday, September 29th
The meeting in Paraguay served many purposes but mainly it was to find ways to improve the sport and the events the zone will host in the future. The people responsible for all things beach soccer in every particpating country were present, as well as the President of CONMEBOL, Juan A. Napout, and CONMEBOL’s Director General, Gorka Villar. South America, specifically Brazil, was the birth place of the sport but the entire continent has always been invested in the sport and they are constantly looking for ways to improve the sport, not just in their areas. Held on the 29th of September, the talks revolved around those specific points, ways to better beach soccer.
The President listened to the concerns of all participants and addressed the mentioned issues but the main point made was to strengthen the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifiers, and to define a date and ratify Paraguay as the host for the next CONMBOL Qualifier. There were also talks about creating a Libertadores Cup and an Under-20 Championship, all aimed at enhancing competitiveness and enhancing already excellent club play, which will in turn help the National Selections.
Napout said that all tournaments will have a bigger budget to better organize the aforementioned tournaments, in addition to their full confidence and support on behalf of the Executive Committee. The list of the dignitaries, in the photo above, from the 10 participating nations are as follows: Argentina: Damian Dupiellet, Brazil: Pacific Eurico De Souza, Bolivia: Donald Nelson Garcia, Colombia: Luis Carlos Rozzo, Chile: Luis Ramirez, Ecuador: Pepe Mosquera Zambrano, Paraguay: Ricardo Torres, Peru: Jaime Drago, Uruguay: Kevor Kouyoumdjian, and Venezuela: Rafael Alamarza.
