Buru eyes sweet exciting return

Back to the team, the steel-made defender is set to become a relevant piece in Guga?s new Brazil in this new opportunity

After a couple of bitter surprises in this beginning of 2012, Brazilian star Buru has seen his name back on Guga’s list again for this Copa America, something that makes him really elated. The steel-made defender sees this new call-up as a new opportunity for him, after a sad 2011 which “meant nothing good to my career”, as he himself states in an interview to Globo. With a youngster’s excitement, Buru highlighted that “I feel really happy after having had a conversation with Guga. He showed me his trust on me, as well as the rest of the group did, and this makes me feel really proud”.

With his 14 years fighting for the Verdeamarela on the sand, and a FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup MVP award (2007), Buru feels he still has a lot to bring to the team. Despite being close  to 36 years, he has not lost what made him so unbeatable, his strength: “I am in an excellent shape, I will even surprise the ‘Seleçao’ physical trainers”. To that pace and power, he can undeniably add his vast experience: “I feel ready to help the team, and to bring my knowledge after all what I have gone through inside the pitch. I am eager to help the young players, both tactically and with advice outside the pitch”.

For Buru being considered in this new era of the Brazilian National team is something really significant. “Guga is a really professional and determined coach. I am happy to work with a manager like him, that gathered a lot of experience abroad to enrich the Brazilian team. I think he has a bright future ahead.” So, he is ready to fight tooth and nails not to miss this opportunity out and to be a relevant piece in this new-minded Canarinha.
