Best Player of the Year: The three nominees

Bruno Xavier (BRA), Mauricinho (BRA) and Ahmadzadeh (IRN), the most voted by captains and coaches

Ahead of Stars Night 2017, Beach Soccer Worldwide is proud to announce the three nominees for the Best Player award.

Brazilians Bruno Xavier and Mauricinho, and Iran’s Mohammad Ahmadzadeh will go up for the award, with the winner to be announced at Stars Night 2017 in Dubai on Saturday, November 4th.

Bruno Xavier (BRA)

The captain for Brazil’s fifth FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup success in Nassau earlier this year, Bruno Xavier is undoubtedly one of the finest players in the world at present, providing a steady presence in the middle while his array of attack-minded team-mates do their thing.

Bruno Xavier also contributes his fair share of goals and defends impressively in the rare instances where Brazil are under the cosh – the 33-year-old is truly an all-round beach soccer star.

Mauricinho (BRA)

Mauricinho – one of Brazil’s biggest success stories under the tutelage of Gilberto Costa – has grown to become one of the most fearsome forwards in the game over the last two years.

Runner-up to Iran’s Mohammad Ahmadzadeh in his bid for the adidas Golden Ball earlier this year, the 27-year-old is currently in the prime of his career and will hope to go one better than Nassau and land first prize with this individual award.

Mohammad Ahmadzadeh (IRN)

Iran forward Mohammad Ahmadzadeh has proven an intrinsic part of his country’s recent successes, providing the goals for their AFC Beach Soccer Championship success in Malaysia before being named the best player of the tournament at the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in The Bahamas.

Ahmadzadeh’s nine goals not only saw him finish third in the scoring charts in Nassau, they also helped him earn the adidas Golden Ball award as Iran finished in third place – the best ever finish for an Asian nation in the competition’s history.
