Beach Soccer Foundation clinic lands in the Bahamas
Kids in Nassau were all smiles as they played on the sand with their favourite players on Tuesday.
The ever-popular Beach Soccer Foundation Clinic arrived on the shores of Nassau on Tuesday as a group disadvantaged local youngsters were given an unforgettable experience with stars of the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship.
Around 20 Bahamian kids and young adults with disabilities headed to the Malcolm Park Beach Soccer Facility prior to the second day of competition and were able to run, play and enjoy soccer on the sand with some of their favourite players.
Beach soccer players from the Bahamas, Trinidad and Tobago and the United States all took part in what was a hugely positive experience for all concerned.
With the help of the players, kids took turns to shoot at goal, then took part in passing drills before playing a full size game in the state-of-the-art stadium.
Cheryl Newell - The Bahamas Down Syndrome and Friends Manager - said: "The children had an awesome time interacting with the professional players and feeling the sand on their toes.
“It was a great moment for them. I want to thank The Beach Soccer Foundation for such a fabulous initiative.”
Beach Soccer Worldwide’s Head of Competitions Josep Ponset added: “These clinics are always really special moments for everyone involved and it’s a big part of what we do as an organisation.
“Our staff, the players, and, most importantly, the kids, all had a great time and we’re proud of the work that the Beach Soccer Foundation continues to do.”
The Beach Soccer Foundation is committed to making a difference across the world through the principles of environmental protection, children/youth development and skin cancer awareness.
