Beach Soccer and its "Clássico Especial"
Santos and Corinthians played in Santos the first official game played by Down syndrome athletes, displaying beach soccer breaking barriers once again
Besides the great quality of beach soccer on display, the great atmosphere, and Vasco da Gama lifting the champions cup at the Arena Santos de Beach Soccer, this Campeonato Brasileiro de Clubes will be remembered for a very special memory: the first ever official game facing two teams of down syndrome players, with Brazilian giants Santos FC taking on SC Corinthians.
Final result was 6-3 for the hosts, but truth is that everybody won in that very special game, as a new bright page in the history of beach soccer was written at the Praia do Gonzaga.
The match was organized by the Federação de Beach Soccer do Estado de São Paulo, represented by the president, Jorge Luis Lisardo de Almeida, CBSB, CBF and with the support and collaboration of Beach Soccer Worldwide and The Beach Soccer Foundation.
