Argentina and Brazil to square off in decider

Albiceleste and Verdeamarela will battle for the Copa America tomorrow, after edging El Salvador (3-1) and Mexico (10-1)

One of the biggest rivalries all over the world, the one between Brazil and Argentina, will pass sentence in the Copa America Beach Soccer 2014. If the hosts want to rule in Recife again, reediting the title they earned just one year ago in Santos, they will have to beat a ambitious Argentinean side, thirsty for a win on Brazilian soil that would leave their all-time opponents really wounded.

Petrasso’s side stayed in a winning fashion after yesterday’s victory over Mexico, and edged El Salvador today to clinch six more points that grant them the chance of fighting for the Cup. Despite Abraham could equalize the score after Leiva’s 1-0, two hits by López in the last stage decided the first match of the day.

After the Argentinean had left their mark at the Boa Viagem beach, it was the turn for the hosts, who were taking on Mexico acknowledging that a defeat could make things really difficult for them in their fight for their 11th Copa America. The Brazilian hands did not tremble, and inflicted the Azteca a heavy punishment: 10-1.

After Mão denied the Mexicans the 0-1 saving a penalty, Datinha, Lucão, Bruno Xavier, Sidney and Bokinha, on two occasions, left the score 6-0 for the Brazilians. Villa’s 6-1 could do little harm on the hosts dominion, as Wesley, Rafinha, Bruno Xavier and Bokinha closed a loud score that pushes Brazil on top of the table in Recife.

With six points each, Argentina and Brazil will fight tomorrow for the eleventh edition of the Copa America. The winner takes it all.

Matches for tomorrow:
7:45 – Mexico vs El Salvador
9:30 – Brazil vs Argentina
