Action underway in Venezuela

III Juegos Suramericanos de Playa began yesterday with much fervor in Vargas, Venezuela as close matches and goals abounded

You could not ask for more of an opening day at a beach soccer event. There were goals. There was defense. There were matches not yet decided until the waning minutes. There were games where the goal differential was only one or two goals. And then there were the favourites, Brazil, showing why they are such a powerful beach soccer team.

Brazil needed no time recovering from their resounding victories at Playa del Carmen in the BSWW Riviera Maya Cup 2014 this past weekend. They began determined to demonstrate why they have won the previous two editions of the Juegos Suramericanos de Playa and how they are going to try again this year. Brazil scored 11 times and only conceded one goal to Peru.

A stellar performance on the final day of the Riviera Maya Cup carried over for Rodrigo Gama of Brazil as he scored the days´ only hat-trick. Paraguay, Ecuador, and Venezuela all had their own stars score multiple goals as well, though Brazil had two more players, apart from Gama, find the back of the net more than once too.

Your need for top-notch beach soccer will be satisfied again later today, but in the meantime, here are yesterday’s results:
Paraguay 4 – 5 Ecuador
Argentina 3 – 1 Uruguay
Colombia 3 – 5 Venezuela
Peru 1 – 11 Brasil
